Self Catering Apartments
Our Spacious Apartments, enjoy all the hotel facilities for the best of both worlds.
PLEASE NOTE The apartments only have a small lift from the 1st floor after a flight of stairs. Due to the age of the building, this was all that was viable when building the lift at the back of the apartment block. Therefore, people with mobility issues may find difficulty negotiating the stairs.
Our spacious apartments are fully self catering, yet benefit from all the facilities of the hotel. With fully fitted kitchen, bathroom, and dining areas and some with sea views our apartments are a favourite with families.
How accessible are your apartments for those with mobility issues?
The Welbeck is on a hill- but don’t let that put you off! Because we are off the promenade, we benefit from the quiet street and sea views from most rooms. All ground floor facilities are accessible by ramp from the street to the front door of the main ‘Welbeck’ building – Restaurant, Bar, and disabled toilet with baby changing facilities.
Our Self-Catering apartments, formerly ‘The Granada Hotel’, has it’s own separate entrance but you can access from the bar area within the Hotel itself. There are stairs to negotiate up to the front door, and then a flight up to the small lift.
When we bought the apartment block in the early 2000s, we set to work on the lift shaft which is at the back of the building leaving enough room before the cliff face to satisfy fire regulations, meaning it stops between floors. Ideal? Probably not, but it works well.
Therefore depending on your capability, it may not be appropriate for those mobility issues.
Each apartment has it’s own boiler.
Our apartments each have their own boilers. We ask that you only put the boilers on “timer”.
Please see how to operate the boiler manual here.
However, Reception are on hand to assist if you require our help.
What meals are on offer?
Although our Self-Catering apartment rates do not include meals, we do still extend the offer to join us – either £8 for Continental, or £12.5o per person for the full breakfast including continental. there is a family offer of £30 for 3 people, £36 for 4.

How many beds are in the apartments?
It is important to let us know before your stay, whether you require a double bed, or two single beds. When housing up to 4 people (maximum). This can either be:
We remove beds to allow space when there are fewer occupants.
Do you supply travel cots?
We do not charge for children under 2. We are required to be aware of all occupants in the unlikely event of fire, so please let us know.
Travel cots are available as a complimentary special request item through the front desk. The number of available cots is limited and will be provided on a first come, first served basis.
You may bring your own baby listening devices but we take no responsibility for their function.
Laundry/Dry Cleaning
We offer the convenience of the launderette which is located on the first floor of our apartments building, opposite the lift.
You will find a coin operated washing machine and tumble dryer. The machines take a £1 coin, and we can provide detergent if necessary.
To avoid a fire hazard, please ensure the fluff is removed from the dryer after each use.
There is a Dry Cleaning service on the promenade, approximately 300 yards away from the Hotel.
Will my apartment be serviced every day?
Our housekeepers service rooms and apartments daily (yes, even post COVID!), unless your ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign is left on your door.
Are all apartments non-smoking?
Yes, we have a strict ‘Non-Smoking’ policy in place, with a minimum £300 fine for non-compliance. This is to ensure the safety and comfort of your fellow guests. The Welbeck was the first Hotel on island to ban smoking on our Premises after an ashtray was knocked on to a bed in a family room, and burnt a hole almost entirely through the mattress.
Are you pet-friendly?
I’m afraid during the summer months, we are unable to dedicate the time to cleaning after your furry friends. During autumn/winter, pets may be allowed but please ask. There will be a surcharge of £10 per day.
We have 6 beautifully appointed one bedroom apartments with bathroom and lounge incorporating dining area and partitioned kitchen. There are stairs to negotiate before and after the lift from 1st floor, so regrettably these apartments are not accessible-friendly.
This luxurious Penthouse Suite is available until 1st October. It has 2 bedrooms, a family bathroom, and separate living and dining area, boasting a panoramic view of Douglas Bay and Onchan Head. This sleeps up to 6 people.
