Reducing Our Consumption of Single Use Plastics

As UNESCO Biosphere Isle of Man partners, we have been looking at ways of limiting how much plastic we use and re-using and recycling wherever practical.
Although we have for many years taken our bottles, cans, paper, cardboard (and now plastic free milk cartons,) we now have labelled receptacles placed outside for our like minded guests to assist us reduce our impact on the planet.
We are going to stop providing the three in one shampoo/conditioner/body wash in the rooms, though we will of course keep a supply behind Reception for any emergencies. Other changes we will make include not using individual portions for preserves and honey.
Isle of Man tap water is one of the best in the world (Water Quality Report) and comes ready chilled, so we will cease to put bottles in the fridges.
There are other items for which we have yet to come up with a solution, such as the little milk pots and wrapped biscuits in the rooms but we will supply fresh milk if guests come down for it. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to do anything that may include extra labour, as staff are so difficult to come by these days but if you have any ideas to help us, please let us know.
